Beautiful Byron Bay Wedding Photography

What can I say about Emma and Peter’s wedding other than it was magnificent and a pleasure to be their wedding photographer.

Byron Bay hold a special place in their hearts as they were engaged here. Peter popped the question during a private moment on the lookout at The Pass. With family and friends scattered about Australia it made sense for them to bring the crew to Byron for their wedding. The ceremony was held at the Byron Bay Surf Club in brilliant sunshine.

As the afternoon faded into night, the clouds built up leading to a massive, cleansing rainstorm during their speeches. The food was delicious with a combination of Morrocan flavours featuring highly. Catering was by the team at EatDrink Catering.

The Definition of Gorgeous, Bangalow Wedding Photography

I had the greatest pleasure on the weekend photographing Aimee and Simon’s wedding at Bangalow in the Byron Bay hinterland, and then on to their reception in Ballina. Aimee looked stunning in her wedding dress with lace accents and cap sleeves but it was their gorgeous daughter that stole the show in the church.

Commercial Stock Photography Photoshoots

One of the ironies of my work is that I often photograph the weddings of couples from overseas, and shoot stock photography with international markets in mind. My stock work also is paid in US dollars but I have never worked there. Until now.

I’m just back from a couple of weeks working in Los Angeles doing some commercial stock photography for Getty Images and iStockphoto. The images taken will soon be available for license but I am also available for commercial photography assignments here is Australia especially for businesses in the Lismore, Ballina and Byron Bay areas of Northern NSW.

Here’s a quick selection of some if the images from the photoshoots I did in LA around Santa Monica and Venice Beach

Next photo adventure looks like being another trip to London later in the year to do some work a little different to what you might normally expect. This imagery isn’t going to be about all things British and I’m excited by what I may be able to capture in my camera.

Commercial and Business Photography in Northern NSW

In addition to being a wedding photographer, I also photograph a range of things for local Northern NSW businesses. This commercial photography can be anything from product photography in my studio, to location photography or other promotional photography for your businesses. I recently did a 3 day photoshoot at various locations around Ballina, Byron Bay, Lennox Head and outside Lismore for Creative Blinds. It was a great shoot that went super smoothly even though the lighting was particularly tricky.

I regularly shoot commercial images for clients who have decided to have a go at the photography themselves first to save money. The problem is that when they don’t manage to get the shot, they may have wasted significant time trying. I shot one job where the client had tried for 3 solid days to get what they were after. They called me at the last minute to step in and complete it for them. It was a studio shot that I set up, lit, photographed and post processed in under an hour. By trying to save my fee, they wasted 3 days of their own time.

Byron Bay Wedding Photography

From Wategoes Beach to The Lighthouse and on the the Surf Club, Emma and Dylan’s wedding at Byron Bay took full advantage of everything Australia’s most easterly town has to offer. Including brilliant sunshine. The weather in the Byron Bay area was terrible in the weeks leading up to their wedding but the day was superb.

Again, it was an absolute pleasure being a Byron Bay wedding photographer. I also got to cruise around in the limo with them and not worry about parking – hooray. We had great time and I think it shows in their wedding photos.

A Location Fit for a Royal Wedding

Just revisiting a few photos I took in London, England and liked the look of this image of Westminster Abbey. Traditionally Royal weddings in England take place here. I wonder if a Royal couple getting married in Northern NSW would choose the churches of Lismore, the hinterland hills behind Byron Bay or the Ballina beaches for their wedding.
