This is another competition entry. Obviously it’s a portrait photo. The origins of this image are in experimentation. I’d been to a lighting workshop where smooth, even, flattering lighting was the goal in order to make the subject look great. So I came back into the studio and was thinking, “what happens if I do the exact opposite of everything I just learned”. You should see this image up close. The detail of the skin pores, hair and other features is just superb. Not pretty, but pretty wild.
