I love Christmas.
I love the anticipation of receiving gifts. I love getting together with family. I love the excitement of my kids, nieces and nephews. I love how my wife does the lion’s share of getting our Christmas sorted. I love houses festooned with lights. I love the food. Especially cherries. I love drinking too much booze. At lunchtime. I even love the drama, the fights and the frustration.
I often have to suppress outward laughter in shopping centres as I observe the irony of a hot and bothered shopper scowling as they push a trolley loaded to overflowing with good wishes, christmas tidings and love to all.
I love how Christians adopted the pagan sun worship festival and turned it into Christmas. And what better place in the world to celebrate the festival of the sun, or Christmas. Australia.
