No, I don’t speak Japanese but this site – http://spacewedding.jp/ – is for a company offering weddings in space starting in 2011. Sort of.
It’s a partnership between Rocketplane Kistler Japan and wedding planner First Advantage. They are planning on having one hour wedding ceremonies in zero gravity, 100 kilometres above the earth. And it’s going to cost around US$2.2million. For that you get the wedding, a broadcast back to your guests stranded on Earth, a reception when you get back, a ‘space wedding’ dress (you can be that’s going to be something ‘different’), transport to the launch, accomodation, training and … hang on … what … video and photos included!!
Bah. Another chance for me to become an astronaut down the tubes.
