Wedding and Commercial Photography from Lismore to Paris and London

Just uploaded a bunch of images to rotate on my front page and thought I’d share them here too.

They are a selection of wedding and commercial stock photography images I took recently in London and Paris. Now back in Lismore I am ready to do your photography in Northern NSW, and am also happy to travel to any destination you require.

It’s Photography Awards Time Again

It’s that time of year again when Australia’s top professional photographers gather to have their souls ripped open and hopefully revel in awards glory. The Australian Professional Photography Awards, correct title the “Canon AIPP APPA’s”, start tomorrow.

As every man and his dog these days seems to be picking up a camera and declaring they are a pro photographer, so too are they attaching the label “Award Winning Photographer” to their shingle. Problem is, many photography awards out there are dead dodgy. One wedding based organisation seems to give it’s awards solely to people who give them money. Other competitions declare every entrant an award winner. There are other great photography awards and competitions out there like the Epson International Pano Awards, The Olive Cotton and HeadOn, but the APPAs are the awards most professional photographers turn to in order to see how their work stacks up.

Entering the APPAs means you are messing with the big boys.

This year I am a little extra nervous. Actually, I am a lot extra nervous. If my images score highly enough, I will gain the title Master Photographer. They are great photos and I don’t think I could have done any more. I’m really proud of the work I have entered. One image is from Paris, two were taken in Berlin and the final image is from Bali.

Wish me luck and if you would like to check out some of the judging it will be streamed live from the website. Click here for more info.

I will try and post my images and results to my Facebook page as they are judged. Go like my page here, to keep an eye on how I perform.

Portraits, Headshots and Stock Photography

Teegan dropped by the studio yesterday to do some face pulling for a series of stock photos. Don’t forget that in addition to wedding photography and stock, I also take portraits. Check out the portraits link above to see details for family portraits and corporate or commercial head shots.

Commercial Stock Photography Photoshoots

One of the ironies of my work is that I often photograph the weddings of couples from overseas, and shoot stock photography with international markets in mind. My stock work also is paid in US dollars but I have never worked there. Until now.

I’m just back from a couple of weeks working in Los Angeles doing some commercial stock photography for Getty Images and iStockphoto. The images taken will soon be available for license but I am also available for commercial photography assignments here is Australia especially for businesses in the Lismore, Ballina and Byron Bay areas of Northern NSW.

Here’s a quick selection of some if the images from the photoshoots I did in LA around Santa Monica and Venice Beach

Next photo adventure looks like being another trip to London later in the year to do some work a little different to what you might normally expect. This imagery isn’t going to be about all things British and I’m excited by what I may be able to capture in my camera.
